What Are Chakras?
Chakras are the energy centers positioned in different places on your body. They allow life energy to pass in and out of you and your aura. Are you still confused?
Think of your life force and energy as a small stream. There are several points in the stream that can’t flow because of branches and debris. Because of this, the water cannot flow through the stream.
However, if you remove the debris from each blocking point, the water begins to flow again, allowing the stream to continue flowing. If this is still confusing, the beginning of this clip from the show Avatar: The Last Airbender does a surprisingly excellent job of explaining chakras.
Moving on, your body has 7 chakras:
The Root Chakra, located towards the base of your spine, serves as your stability, support, and connection to all that grounds you.
The Sacral Chakra is located above your groin and below your belly button. This chakra relates to pleasure and sexual feelings.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is between your bellybutton and your ribcage. This chakra is the source of your willpower, commitment, and self-esteem.
The Heart Chakra is at the center of your chest. This chakra deals with love, quite self-explanatory.
The Throat Chakra is located in your throat and mouth. This chakra is what allows you to speak your mind and your inner truth. In other words, it controls your communication.
The Third-Eye Chakra, found between your eyebrows, controls your intuition and insight.
The final chakra is the Crown Chakra. This one sits on the top of our head. This chakra is the center of your enlightenment and the pathway to your spiritual connection.
Chakra Alignment: Do You Need It?
All of your chakras align when they’re no longer blocked. Should any of your chakras be blocked, this can affect you in multiple ways depending on which one(s) are stuck. Generally speaking, however, if you feel as though you’ve been in a rut for a while, it is likely one or more of your chakras are blocked.
It is important to free and align your chakras so that way tour life energy can flow through you with ease. In balancing your chakras, you can begin to feel stable, happy, and alive again. You can also then begin to look for signs of Kundalini Awakening.
How to Open and Align Your Chakras
There are a few ways to align your chakras, some including being guided through it with the help of a guru or a yoga instructor, but if you want to do it yourself, here is one way how.
You’ll want to sit up straight and take deep, relaxing breaths through the entire process. We’ll start with the root chakra and imagine a red orb of energy. Focus on it and feel it both in your energy and at the root chakra.
After this, move the energy ball up to your Sacral chakra and focus on it there as it turns orange. Then move it to the solar plexus chakra, doing the same until it turns yellow and so on and so forth until you reach the crown chakra.
After passing through the chakras and their colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple in that order from Root to Crown), allow the ball of energy to emerge from your head and float up into the sky, allowing you to feel relieved, relaxed, and free.
