Install Garage Flooring
No one likes to look at cracking concrete as their floor. Luckily, you have a lot of flooring options for your garage that will make it stand out quite a bit. But if you want to make it so the flooring can take a real beating, consider horse stall mats. They are thick and can hold up to anything you throw at them.
Insulate and Drywall
Whether the garage is connected to your house or not, it is always a good idea to insulate the garage against the harsh elements if you are going to use it frequently. In fact, go one step further and drywall it as well. Don’t forget to insulate the ceiling as well. This is where a lot of heat and cool air escapes. When you are finished, go ahead and paint it out in your favourite colours. After all, you are the one that is probably going to be using it the most anyway.
Storage
The garage is perfectly made for storage. It is up to you to install the right options. For example, putting up a few pegboards on the wall will allow you to hang up your tools so you can clearly see them when they are needed.
Also, hanging up some much-needed shelving will enable you to place your boxes and crates up and out of the way. Better yet, inquire about industrial shelving as it can hold some serious weight and fit into just about any space. An organized garage with a special floor and painted walls will take it to the next level. You will be the envy of all the neighbours!
