Corporate events such as a family fun day are a common thing for any company, and if you have been tasked with organising such an event, then you have to make sure that it’s the best event ever. And whilst you have to think carefully about the budget for your event, you also have to think about what would make it extra special and unique. Unlike Christmas parties or other corporate events, family fun days cater to (you guessed it) families and children. Your colleagues’ or workers’ children need to be entertained, and there’s the added pressure of having to rein in (potentially) unruly or picky kids as well. So how can you make your corporate family fun day extra special? Here are some top tips on organising the best family day and corporate event for your company.
Make it a breeze
Even before everyone arrives at the event, make sure you have already given them what they need – things such as maps and tickets are essential, so you can also avoid any confusion when everyone comes. Upon arrival, it would also be best if you could arrange for VIP entry for special guests. You should also make use of wristbands so your guests can easily pass through the queues and start having a great time. Don’t forget to consider other elements as well, such as pram access and mobility, and make it a point to have plenty of parking for prams, too.
Know what to serve
You should also think carefully about what to serve at your event, and when it comes to family fun days, food should be both kid- and adult-friendly. Some favourites include barbecued or grilled meats – it’s an excellent filler for hungry stomachs, and almost everyone loves it. But it would also be a brilliant idea to include such fairground or family fun day favourites as ice cream or a variety of sweets. This is also the perfect opportunity to sneak in some branding for your event, especially if you have some lolly bags, cupcakes, biscuits, and so on. Whilst you’re at it, don’t forget drinks and beverages for both kids and adults – and for adults, we mean beer, wine, cocktails and punches, and so forth. Make sure as well that you designate a special area for the food – a place where everyone can chat and mingle and enjoy their snacks and meals.
Choose your entertainment wisely
Of course, family fun days aren’t complete without entertainment. Entertainment for everyone can take on many forms, but you definitely can’t go wrong with some fairground hire rides and attractions as well as stalls selling all kinds of wares. You can go the traditional route with some classic fairground rides, but you can also go a bit modern with some modern attractions like bungee trampolines and climbing walls. The possibilities are endless. However, you should also consider your audience and what they would like. If you want, you can do a survey first so you can have a better idea of what everyone would go for and what they would prefer.
Last, but certainly not least…
And last, but not least, make sure you have a plan if the weather doesn’t turn out as you expected. Most family fun days are held outdoors, but with the unpredictable UK weather, things can quickly turn sour. It’s best to have indoor elements to your family fun day; you can take advantage of indoor rides and games as well, and make sure to have a good supply of umbrellas and ponchos (make them branded!) for everyone to use.
