Everyone is interested in learning what it is that you need to do in order to stay motivated. The actions that you need to take to give you motivation are well documented. Things like setting clear goals, having a clear path to reach those goals, and making sure that you have the tools necessary to help you attain those goals, are all critical to becoming motivated and living an 8 figure lifestyle.
If you are someone who is a little overweight and who’s tried regularly to lose that weight, you understand that most often getting motivated is not the problem. Motivation for losing weight can be as simple as walking by a mirror or trying on some clothes that you were sure would fit you and finding that they don’t. You need to have motivation to lose at least a few extra pounds. What becomes the big issue is how to stay motivated. What must you do or not do in order to ensure that you reach your goal. Here’s some tips on things that you can do or not do, to keep yourself motivated:
Keep Track of Your Progress
When we have a lofty goal the weird determined to reach replace that goal in front of us and decide that we will not be successful unless we reach that particular goal. And often along the way we lose track of the progress that we are making towards that goal. If in the end we only reach a percentage of the way toward the goal we feel like a complete failure, not realizing how far we’ve come from where we started. For this reason we need to do is to keep track of our progress as we move toward our goal and even break up or goal into smaller mini-goals. These mini-goals allow us to feel good about ourselves along the way to our big goal. Because they create steps along the way, we are able to stay motivated as we head towards our ultimate goal.
Stop Being so Hard on Yourself
Depending upon your personality type this one can be really difficult. You need to keep a positive attitude about yourself no matter what your situation is currently and if you have any setbacks while trying to obtain your goal. You need to know that whatever situation you are in, there have been others would have been in much worse and it managed to not only succeed, but to actually go further than they planned.
So if you are an actor and do a film and read good reviews about yourself but were expecting great ones, lighten up on yourself. To be clear, a healthy dose of self-criticism can be very motivating. For many of us being too easy on ourselves created the situation we are currently in. So we need to have a level of self-scrutiny. But this should serve as a motivator and not as a debilitating factor. If your attitude towards yourself is causing you to feel less motivated, you need to change your attitude. So pay attention to how you were treating yourself, and as a rule of thumb, don’t be so hard on yourself.
Reward Yourself
When you meet your mini-goals be sure to give yourself a reward for your success. This is important because psychologically it tells you that you have made a great accomplishment. The mind begins to feel comfortable about the current state of things and you feel more motivated to continue. So create some type of indulgence specifically designed to show your appreciation to yourself for the great work that you have done.
Never give up on your goals. Some are very difficult for us to reach and we can always look around and find others who can reach the goals that we find so difficult, very easily. This is just how life is, so don’t let it discourage you. Keep going and you will get there.
