4 Mindfulness Tips Which Will Transform Your Life:
1. Make sure to switch off your smart phone when you’re socializing with friends and family members
Unfortunately in today’s society many individuals find it hard to be present in social situations and use their smart phones in order to tune out from whats going on around them. If you find that you have a constant need to check your Facebook news-feed for example, you want want to start getting into the habit of turning your smart phone off, when you have company.
You should find that you have a far better time with your family and friends, if you give them your full, undivided attention. As they’ll feel as if they’re truly being listened to and so will listen to what you have to say, in turn, with their full undivided attention.
2. Start your day off with an invigorating workout, which will increase your mental focus
One way to get your day off to a great start is to get up half an hour, or an hour earlier than you currently do, in order to fit in an early morning workout. As when you work out, the blood will start to pump around your body, which will increase your mental clarity, which is your ability to think clearly.
So if you’re looking to drastically increase your focus, it’s well worth working out while you travel, at home and each morning. If you’re not a huge fan of cardio, simply completing a 20 minute yoga workout in the comfort of your own home, will provide a wide variety of benefits.
3. Get into the habit of keeping a gratitude journal
If you have a tendency to focus on your struggles in life and are interested in training yourself to have a more balanced outlook, you may want to start writing in a gratitude journal at the end of each day. Simply use a plain, blank journal to jot down three things that made your day or that you’re grateful for, before going to sleep each night.
As an example, you could be grateful that an old friend contacted you out of the blue or that a stranger complimented you on your outfit. If possible, try to come up with 3 new ideas per day.
4. Set yourself time limits for each task
If you find it extremely difficult to focus on tasks, without losing you focus, you may be able to maintain your focus by setting yourself time limits for each task. As an example, you may allocate yourself 30 minutes to cook dinner or to clean your lounge. Or if you’re looking to be more productive with your work, you may set yourself a goal of finishing a work report in an hour.
