Taking some time to pamper yourself is more important now than ever. With COVID-19 and other unprecedented things happening all around us, stress and anxiety are at an all-time high.
You may even feel so stressed that you’ve forgotten how to pamper yourself at all! Don’t worry, we’ve got some great suggestions – that won’t break the bank!
1. Take a Bath
This may seem cliché, but there’s really no better way to pamper yourself than to indulge in a long, hot bath. If you can, get a nice bath bomb or your favorite bath oil. Turn down the lights, light some candles, and play some relaxing music.
When you get out, don’t let the pampering stop. Use some organic body care products to smooth and nourish your skin. Then, put on your comfiest pajamas and head out to the living room to binge on some Netflix.
2. Cook a Healthy Meal
When we’re busy and stressed, sometimes we don’t eat as well as we should. Instead of ordering takeout or snacking on whatever you can find in the fridge, spend some time looking for a healthy recipe that looks delicious.
Try to stay mindful while you shop for the ingredients and cook your meal. Then, sit down without distractions and savor your delicious, healthy meal.
3. Get Some Cuddle Time
Looking for an inexpensive way to pamper yourself? Reach for your partner, your fur-babies, or your kids, and have a good cuddle session. Cuddling releases endorphins for both of you. Plus, you’ll feel great basking in all that love.
Most of us don’t spend enough quality time with our loved ones, so making a point to get even a few minutes of closeness will do you both good.
4. Read a Good Book
There’s nothing quite like unplugging from the outside world and diving into a great book. Whether you love chick-lit, murder mysteries, or non-fiction, giving yourself uninterrupted time to read is an excellent form of pampering.
Find a place where you can get comfortable, grab a super-soft blanket, some pillows, and your favorite beverage, and prepare to let your mind wander far away.
5. Just Breathe
With all the madness going on, sometimes the best way to pamper yourself is to just breathe. Close your eyes, calm your mind, and spend a few minutes paying attention to nothing but your breath coming in and out of your body. This will calm you and give you the strength you need to get through the rest of your day.
Pamper Yourself Today
Remember that you don’t’ need a ton of time to pamper yourself! Even taking five minutes alone to breathe deeply and center yourself will leave you feeling worlds better. And, if you can squeeze in an hour or so for some deeper pampering – do it!
