Let’s be honest — Nobody could have ever conceived the notion of getting engaged or married during a global pandemic. Unfortunately, though, that’s the reality for many couples who now have — or previously had — to adjust or delay their wedding plans in order to ensure the safety of their friends and family.
For brides who have thought about their wedding day since childhood, it’s no doubt a difficult adjustment to make. But it doesn’t mean their special day and the days leading up to it can’t be enjoyable and unforgettable.
Here are several ways to help spoil the bride-to-be and show her how much you care.
1. Call the Bridal Party
Besides the groom, if anyone knows how to cheer up the bride-to-be, it certainly has to be her closest group of girlfriends. Knowing this factoid, make it a point to work with the bridal party to create something special for the bride-to-be, albeit a virtual bachelorette party or video compilation of well-wishes from her friends.
Who knows? Her bridal party and other close friends might even be willing to fully quarantine for two weeks in order to host a mini-bachelorette party in-person. Indeed, don’t underestimate the power of women coming together to support a loved one, as they will likely have some great ideas to celebrate in a safe manner.
2. Don’t Skip the Pampering
Before her wedding day, a bride will usually get her nails, hair and makeup done, and maybe some spa treatments. While the groom may not go to the same lengths to get pampered, he may indulge with a massage or two on their honeymoon. However, due to COVID-19, it may be best to come up with some ways for the couple to be pampered at home.
Say your friends would rather indulge their inner foodie. If that’s the case, there are plenty of meal delivery services that help to make preparing food easier. Friends and family may be willing to contribute Postmates gift cards or Blue Apron subscriptions as a treat to the couple instead of traditional registry items. Other options include at-home spa kits, flower subscriptions and some nice wine. Anything to bring on the relaxation in this stressful time.
3. Enlist Loved Ones to Document the Experience
If you’re getting married during quarantine, it’s definitely a time to be remembered. While it will already be an unforgettable time, couples will still want plenty of photos and videos on which to look back and to share with those who cannot be there to celebrate in-person. Instead of using their limited headcount on photographers and videographers, allow friends and family to document the nuptials.
Pass out disposable cameras to guests, allowing them to capture some vintage-style shots. Getting ready, the first look and the first kiss are all moments that deserve to be recorded, even if it’s not exactly how it was imagined. Even if everyone is remote, ask them to send pictures of their celebrations at home.
4. Treat Her to Something Sexy and Sensual
It never hurts to give that special someone a confidence boost, and buying the bride some sexy lingerie might just do the trick. For many of us, quarantine means sitting around in comfy clothes (or even pajamas) most of the day. But providing an opportunity to make her feel sexy and appreciated can do wonders for her confidence and emotional state. Browse for a hot number or two that will make the bride-to-be feel great.
