The problem with life is that we are never realizing when the important and memorable periods are happening until after they have been finished for years. For instance, you may have memories that you cherish from elementary school, but at the time, you were thinking that these years were a bit of a drag.
The same could be said about your whole early childhood. When you were a young child, you probably just felt like you were constantly reliving the same day over and over again like the film Groundhog Day. You would wake up in the morning, go to school, come home for a bit, eat dinner, and then go to bed. However, if you think back hard enough, there are probably a few items from your childhood that you wished you had back for sentimental purposes. Things that still stand out to this day and made your childhood memorable. Here are just a couple of those items you would love to have back on your shelf as an adult.
Your Bedroom Library
Rereading a book can not only put you back into the story that you love, but it can also transport you back to the first time that you sat down and read the book to begin with. Wouldn’t it be nice to still have the bedroom library that you had as a kid? It may not have been the biggest library, probably only a dozen or so books really, but each of them could bring back a time of your life that you have shelved into the recesses of your mind.
Your Parents’ Clothes
If you are lucky enough to still have your parents in your life, consider yourself fortunate. For the rest of us, how much would you love to have a few pieces of clothing that your parents wore back when you were a kid? As an adult, you could now wear it as a type of security blanket. It is amazing how an article of clothing can bring you back decades and have you fondly recalling times that have been overlooked for years.
The Toys You Used to Play With
Many of us can still recall exactly which Christmas or birthday we received certain toys from because we viewed them as that special. Unfortunately, many of those toys bit the dust decades ago. Still, you can try now to find all of those toys (not the exact ones you played with) through the internet. In fact, you can easily find diecast model cars that you used to play with as a child on your kitchen floor. All of these toys will serve the purpose of reminding you what it was like to be a child back in the day before the adult world came knocking.
