If there’s anything that we’ll forever be on the process of figuring out, it’s life. It is that one thing nobody has mastered before (read more). It is that one thing that plagues the minds of millions of people even to this day. What is life, anyway?
Why were we born?
Why do we die?
Why do we constantly struggle everyday if what lies ahead is infinite nothingness?
These are some of the world’s biggest questions. So big, in fact, that hundreds of centuries later they are still left unanswered. But that is to be expected.
These questions are big for a reason. Big questions require big answers but since we can’t give form to that “big answer,” we settle for second best. We look for numerous little answers as we tread each and every day of our existence. Everyday we discover something new about ourselves; everyday we find something that wasn’t there before. I may be a life coach but that doesn’t make me a master of life. No mortal can ever hold that title. What I am is but a fellow who has experienced more of life and therefore have created more constructs of it. I learn through actual events and create probabilities as a result of having experienced these events. “If I do this, it will result in this. If I do that, it will result in that.” It’s that sort of thing. My title as a coach gives me the privilege to share with the masses what I have learned through my journeys and what little answers I have uncovered about life.
If you want to be a Life Coach in Ireland like me, then you can make that dream a reality anytime you want. You just have to start.
From one coach to another, however, I have a few tips to give you a head start. These advices are fundamental if you are to pursue a career in life coaching. I hope you take my words to heart and learn everything with an open mind.
What It Takes To Be A Life Coach
You Have To Be At Peace With Yourself
Life coaching involves a lot of interaction and engagement with others. This also means that when you are in the presence of another individual seeking solace in your wisdom, you must be perfectly attuned with yourself. It is difficult to help people release their burdens and baggage if you are also carrying some of your own. If you truly want to be of service to people who seek answers to life, you have to prepare yourself – mentally, physically, and emotionally. You have to let go of your own doubts and indecision so that you can shelter their worries without losing yourself. You Should Never Insist Your Own Point Of Views
You may be the coach here but you should never ever force anyone to accept your views and opinions of life. A coach is there to guide, not to dictate. He is there to prescribe, not to force. If the other person has differing opinion from yours, or if he doesn’t quite agree with your way of thinking, let him be. Better yet, reflect on your way of thinking. Always be open to the possibility that you might be wrong yourself. It is when you keep an open mind that you get to discover how raw and changing this world can be. You’re a coach, not an omnipotent. You can be right and you can be wrong.
Respect People From All Walks Of Life
It doesn’t matter if a person is young or old, rich or poor, colored or white. You have to respect each and every person that comes knocking to your door. After all, people may seem very different. But at their core, they are all asking the same questions. Fundamental questions are called as such because they are important to all kinds of people from all parts of the world. People from the east are just as curious and lost when it comes to life. As I said, nobody knows life. We’re all wanderers in this world begging for answers. As someone who has more life experience, be respectful and kind – always.
