Disneyland
People come from around the world to visit the original Disneyland, an LA icon since 1955. There’s an almost endless amount of activities, rides, shows, and experiences, with an array of classic Disney characters thrown in for good measure, and something for every member of the family to enjoy. Disneyland also includes the Disney California Adventure Park, with attractions and rides from Pixar, Marvel, and other new additions to the Disney family.
Universal Studios
At Universal Studios Hollywood, the stars and stories from Hollywood’s most famous movies come to life. This awesome theme park offers a superb combination of excitement and old-fashioned storytelling, and whether its Harry Potter or the Simpsons for the kids, or Jurassic Park or the Walking Dead for the adults, there’s enough magic, glitz, and glamour to keep everyone happy.
Walk of Fame
The Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street is the city’s most famous piece of sidewalk. Stroll down the road and find the Stars of the stars, with the most famous names in Hollywood history all represented here. While you are here, check out the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre, El Capitan, and the Hollywood Wax Museum, which is always a favorite with the kids.
Griffith Park and LA Zoo
LA’s enormous Griffith Park is perfect to let the kids off the leash and blow off some steam. The beautiful natural landscape is perfect for cycling, hiking, frisbee, kite flying, or just having a picnic, and the attractions in Griffith Park Observatory are well worth exploring too. Don’t miss LA Zoo, with its exotic animals, as well as some of the best kept botanical gardens in the state.
Venice Beach
Venice Beach is one of California’s most well-known stretches of sand, and with good reason. With crystal-clear waters, gorgeous golden sand and year-round sunshine, this is the perfect spot to kick back and relax, soak up some sun, and let the kids enjoy the gentle surf. The neighboring promenade is a pedestrian-only zone for the entirety of its two and a half-mile stretch, making this a wonderfully safe area to let your little ones explore, as well. If they tire of the beach, the nearby skating rink and Venice Pier offer alternative diversions.
